Hello, my name is Darin Blood. I am 28 years old and I grew up in the very
small city of Salamanca, New York which is located about an hour south of
Buffalo. Now I live in the nearby rural
town of Napoli. Growing up, I would usually be fishing and camping with my dad,
or at least spending the weekends outdoors with my cousins. All I knew for sure is that when I was older
I didn’t want a typical, indoors, 9-5 type job.
I graduated from SUNY college of
Environmental Science and Forestry in 2006 with a degree in Wildlife
Science. I’ve spent the last six summers
working on various wildlife studies in West Virginia and Tennessee. For the last six winters I’ve had a very fun
job driving snowmobile and skiing at Holimont ski resort near my home. I’m a believer that being happy isn’t about
what you do and where you go, but about how you do it and the friends you do it
with. So I’ve had a great time traveling
around and just making the most of working and living with many different
people at my seasonal jobs. Now I’m out
here in Vegas to enjoy my time in a new place with many new friends. I also believe that environmental issues are
the most critical issues facing modern society, and another great thing about
this position is that it allows me to make a hands on difference and lasting
impression on the local environment.
Also, as a personal bonus I get to play poker in my free time. This is my favorite hobby, which I have
studied for over five years, and I consider it the ultimate strategy game.
